Finally, after many years of waiting, the famous, and the best, step-by-step libraries were ported from TI-68k to TI-Nspire calculators . Unfortunately, they are not free ($$$) These libraries are most coveted by students.
STEP-BY-STEP Calculus, Statistics, Differential Equations, Algebra, Trig, PreCalculus, Physics, Chemistry, .. Solutions for the TI-Nspire and TI-68k families (executable on PC, iOS, Android and real devices)
Pity that the TI-Nspire abandons the dialog boxes of its "father" the TI-68k, please Texas Instruments team, bring back dialog boxes...
I can program these applications, but I need a graphical interface like GUI+ or TI-68k dialog boxes, plus I would do it for free.

An API for Dialog boxes in Lua should already exist, I think.

Re: $tep by $tep Calculus, Statistics, Differential Equation
Well, it's nice to see more Nspire-Lua dev, but while I do respect their business choices, I'm not fond of their code/apps:
I've tried a few trials:
So, okay, there are many functions available, but I'm not sure there are any really new things that haven't been made available in Basic programs, or even nice GUI-based Lua scripts, beforehand (and once again, for free) - a few examples :
I've tried a few trials:
- user input validation is simply not there, so you can type non-sense things and it will accept it (thanks CAS so that it won't crash on everything because it's able to return things like "123*asdf/456")
- No crash prevention / errorHandler ? What the heck, that's just a few lines to add to basically [lazily] handle most of the potential issues. And well, it would have been useful - again on some inputs, the script simply crashed
- The UX is bad: In user input fields, what could you do to validate? Press [tab]? nope... Press [enter]? Yep, but that creates a newline in the box as well... so you have to go back to it and remove it
- The "copy/paste" trick protection: Come on, is that a joke? It's annoying the sh*t out of users because the system clipboard isn't usable anymore, as the app keeps setting the clipboard to "1", so when you do a copy/paste in your browser or something else, when, it'll get overwritten by "1". Seriously?
- Only working on 4.2+ handhelds?: That's just an unnecessary artificial limitation. (however, I see it's checking the serial, so that is at least one reason for 4.2)
- I definitely don't think it's worth $30, but that's just me. Apparently, apps like that have worked on z80 and 68k, but the competition is real (and free) on the Nspire, most of the time for a better app in the end, so...

Well, several Lua apps here use ETK While it's not the same as the 68k GUI, it allows to do interesting things
See some of the apps I've linked above.

Re: $tep by $tep Calculus, Statistics, Differential Equation
Well, I just think this business model is totally... stupid in 2016 and on the Nspire. It's ridiculous, ZoomMaths and TI89.com keep selling apps which could help thousands of students, it's simply silly to do that and with prices like that (ZM500 is as expensive as the 84+ it is supposed to run on)

Yes they should.
But then again, not all teachers like that...

Re: $tep by $tep Calculus, Statistics, Differential Equation
Oh but I have already talked with several TI devs and execs about this And it's not that they couldn't do it, of course, but they'd already have done it if teachers were asking for things like this.
In fact, they know there are some programs that take care of it already, so they probably don't bother doing it themselves especially if teachers don't want it.
Maybe in the future more and more teachers will accept that it can be good, and so TI could look into it even more...
