Re: Screen Issues and more-linux Ti Nspire CX revision Y
Did you actually start an X server? Otherwise there's nothing it can connect to. Try startx. Oh, I haven´t tried that before. The command just said it wasn´t installed so I installed it with apt-get install xserver-xorg xserver-xorg-video-fbdev xinit pciutils xinput xfonts-100dpi xfonts-75dpi xfont...

Re: Screen Issues and more-linux Ti Nspire CX revision Y
You need to use mount -o remount,rw /, the rw is the crucial part. Or try adding rw to the kernel cmdline. It's also possible that the filesystem was mounted read-only because some errors were found during boot. That should be visible in the logs though. Ok so the mount -o remount,rw / worked and n...

Program that would allow for costum shortcuts system wide?
Would it currently be possible to implement with nDless some kind of program compared to WinHotKey for Windows, in which I could customize shortcuts to execute a task or program? For example, if I press :nsct: :nsf: , it would open Ndless Commander. If I press :nsct: :nsu: it would open the scratchp...

Re: Screen Issues and more-linux Ti Nspire CX revision Y
Yay! How long did it take (ignoring the 10s rootdelay) and how is the USB drive speed? It takes the CXII to boot, without taking the 10s rootdelay into consideration, around 42seconds, which is SOOOO FAST!! (To boot debian). For comparison, the CX took somewhere around the time my PC took to load G...

Re: Screen Issues and more-linux Ti Nspire CX revision Y
Also, it is interesting that my mouse has a LED and my calculator seems to use it as a memory usage indicator, like the LED in my PC that indicates the SSD is in use. I´ll attach a small video with that. Fun! Normally LED triggers are defined in the device tree, but apparently there's some more log...

Re: Serial connection with Raspberry Pi 3b
Thank you for your reply. I think your way of connecting the cables should work for me too. And the software part shouldn't be a big problem because there are lots of alternatives for Linux. You are right; I can't run Windows on my Pi but what I read I could use Putty for Linux. It should support s...

Yep, it's working! The error is XZ decompressor ran out of memory which means that the initrd is either too big, broken or somehow it's not seeing all of RAM. Ok, I´ve just verified the Available Internal Storage Space available in my calculator and it´s "11.1MB", which wouldn´t work with...

Re: Serial connection with Raspberry Pi 3b
I have my old and fully bricked Ti-Nspire CX (no CAS) and an old Raspberry Pi 3b. Is it possible to flash a boot2 file with my Raspberry Pi? The pins have a voltage of 3.3V and I think the Nspire does need 3.3V, right? If I am right I must connect Rx, Tx and one gnd of my calculator to my Pi and th...

Re: Screen Issues and more-linux Ti Nspire CX revision Y
It looks like the LCD timing is misconfigured (only a part is refreshing properly), which is actually promising! It means that the kernel reconfigured the LCD and probably tries to display something. I created a panel configuration which results in Linux writing the same timings as the OS (minus th...
