There is nothing wrong/special with this one (the ASIC isn't damaged or anything, it came like that).
It's not the latest either so far, and as said before, is the same as rev. T.
TI does indeed keep updating the hardware, the latest being rev. W at this time (you can see it here) ; it is completely redesigned (Cost Reduction phase 4) to be on one board, as explained here.
