I can't figure out how to delete the OS because I don't know what keys to press on my keyboard to get to maintenance menu

I have a macbook so no number pad

Just right-click the keys on the Firebird keypad to hold them.

Actually, I have a new problem: my firebird won't transfer phoenix.tns to the calculator! It says "send failed" at about 40%

Could you possibly PM me a flash image with:

3.1 boot2 CX Non Cas
Nlaunchy with 4.2 CAS set up (stuck on clock screen)

In which context are you trying to transfer the file ?
With the OS running ? Which version ?
Or at the Boot2 "install OS" screen ?

with OS 3.1 non CAS running. Have also tried 3.6

I've had file transfer problems in Firebird with the oldest 3.0.1 OS (with transfers being interrupted mid-transfer).
Not sure about OS 3.1, but 3.6 should work.
