Pendant que certains se passionnent pour leur programmation et visent à toujours repousser leurs limites, d'autres cherchent à comprendre comment elles fonctionnent...
Aujourd'hui, mentionnons Ripcord de la communauté chinoise cnCalc qui s'est conçu pièce par pièce une véritable calculatrice scientifique qui, comme visible ci-contre, calcule apparemment aussi bien qu'une HP-Prime !
La calculatrice est munie d'un écran LCD monochrome rétroéclairé de 32 cellules d'affichage réparties sur 2 lignes.
Chaque cellule d'affichage fait 5x7 pixels et convient donc aussi bien à l'affichage de caractères alphanumériques que de symboles.
Son clavier artisanal en papier n'en est pas moins complet, avec pas moins de 32 touches de fonction réparties sur 8 lignes et 4 colonnes.
Le matériel s'articule ici autour d'un microcontrôleur 8-bits STC 12C5A60S2, plus précisément basé sur l'architecture d'un processeur 80C51.
A simple titre de référence, on peut comparer cette calculatrice à la gamme de calculatrices Casio MS sortie en 2001 et déclinée en France sous la dénomination Casio fx-92 Collège, ou à la gamme TI-30X II de 2001 chez Texas Instruments là encore déclinée en France avec les TI-40 Collège II puis TI-Collège.
