OS update

hello all.
I'm Italian so sorry if I do not speak French.
I Can't update my TI nspire cas. I tried to format it but it accept only the 1.2 OS
This is the error message

Hi,

You might own a prototype -> without some tricks, they can't be upgraded to OSes 1.2 or later.

To determine that, if you've still got an OS on your handheld, can you give me the Boot1 and Boot2 full versions?
They're in the "about" screen.

Your TI-Nspire CAS seems peerfectly normal.
So it *should* work.

As you've got a very old OS, it has to be upgraded in 2 steps:
- 1st step: install an OS between 1.4 and 2.0.1
- 2nd step: install OS 2.1.0 or later

All OSes are available on TI-Planet:

I can't download 1.4
I tried 1.6, 1.7 and 2.0
Always the same problem

Which OS version is currently installed on your CAS ?


It should work. Just try anything: try to restart your computer, to use another one, to use a different usb cable...

I tried also to update my ti cas with another calculator.
The os now is 1.2.2344 (it's the only I can install)

Hum... but 1.2.2344 is a prototype development OS... (didn't you make a typo, wanting to say 1.2.2394?)

Because in that case,there is something strange... your calculator would be using:
- a production Boot1
- a production Boot2
- a development OS

Which should be impossible...


Can you tell us more on your calculator? Where did you get it?

I format my calculator but i can't install 1.2.2394 OS
Only 1.2.2344 is accepted
I bought it refurbished on ebay

A few questions that might help

-Where did you find OS 1.2.2394, on TI-Planet?

-Do you have a square in the left top corner when the Nspire boots?

-At the back of your Nspire, you have a number at the bottom. What are the last 5 characters (4 digits and 1 letter)?
