base convertion

Unread postby mgscrewu » 24 May 2012, 17:12

hi, as I´m studying engineering I need to convert bases, but the ti cx cas only has base 2, 10, and 16.. I want to do it to other bases, like base 8 for instance...
Is there any program that could add this function??
thanks

Well, you can create one easily if you need it...
It only takes a few lines.

It surely has been done by many but may not be online.
If you need help for searching or for typing it, don't be afraid of asking for it.

How to create a program :
1) Open a new document (on your calc)
2) Add a "Calculator" page
3) Within that page, press :nsme: :ns9: :ns1: :ns1: and give your program a name (e.g. "convert"), a type (here "function" would be the best, I think) and a library access ("Libpub" : so that you can use your new function everywhere).
4) Separate the 2 pages by pressing :nsct: :ns6:

And I'll explain the rest later as I have to go and get some pizzas...
