First of all: Hello, everybody.
I realize this may sound greedy, but hear me out.
The various student softwares TI sells (or rather, the calculator firmware images it boots and emulates) contain SVG representations of a bunch of different calculators.
I need them for a school project, so I went looking and eventually stumbled across this thread by critor (viewtopic.php?t=10225) from almost four years ago. As far as I can tell, he dumped a bunch of debug information from a calculator while doing a firmware upgrade and then posted rasterized versions of the SVG skins mentioned above.
My question is: How did he get hold of these SVG images and how can I do the same? Or - and here's where the greedy part comes in - does anyone by chance have a decrypted OS file system lying around and could provide me with all of these SVGs?
My initial research on how to manually decrypt firmware files turned up nothing except a bunch of ancient websites that even archive.org didn't have anymore, so I'm stuck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi !
You don't really need to tinker with the firmware to get the svg files.
You can get the whole collection in the TI emulation software folders (you don't even need the software to have a valid licence - you just need it to be installed).

- Just go in the installed TI software folder.
- Then for the TI-SmartView softwares, go into the "app\emulators\" subfolder (I don't remember for Nspire softwares).
- You find one or several emulator .jar files, for each supported model.
- Open the .jar file matching the model you want with an archiving tool (7-Zip for example)
- In the opened .jar file window, go into the "com\ti\et\smartview\jsemulator\images\" subfolders
- And here are your svg files !

Critor's reply was indeed for the TI-SmartView, ie for the 83/84 calcs.
It's not very far from the Nspire software, but here it is:
- Get the demo of the Nspire CX teacher software and install it
- Go in the path where it's installed, and in the java (or "lib", or something like that) directory
- Extract docfw.jar
- .SVGs are in the "emulatorSkins" folder

All recent non-Nspire SVG files are attached.
Hope you'll find what you need among them.
