What's the error message shown, and when does it appear ?
Just after you did start sending the file ? Some time after you did start sending the file ?

As you can see from this picture, the error occurs after erasing the OS, when I try to install the OS 2.0. The program sends the file to the calculator, and when the % bar approaches to the end it displays that window. This doesn't happen when I reinstall OS 3.6 to redo all the procedure from the start, so I suppose that something went wrong with the downgrade protection removal.

I follow your steps as listed:

1: install os 3.6
2: install ndless
3: run nsNandMgr: when I press the downgrade protection removal the boot 2 on the screen changes value from 3.6.x.x to 0.0.0.0
4: exit nsNandMgr
5: press the reset button and the key combination to go to the maintenance menu
6: delete the OS, after that asks to press any key to restart
7: try to install the 2.0 OS: the result is shown in the picture above.

I'm just saying that here : when going from an old OS to a new one, it is recommended (by TI, but in general, even though it's not always necessary) to update step by step, for example : 2.0, 3.1, 3.6.
Might not apply for what you're trying to do, but at least you know if needed

I know that, thanks, but I am trying to do the reverse thing: go from 3.6 to 2.0. If it won't work I'll simply buy from the U.S. a new keyboard.

It should work.
I don't understand why this error message is being shown.

You could try to install OS 3.1, as proposed by Adriweb :
archives_voir.php?id=3720

I'm just curious to know if it does trigger the same error message or not.

Ok, thanks.

So:
  1. install Ndless 3.1
  2. install nsNandMgr
  3. run nsNandMgr, ask it to remove or reset the downgrade protection, and confirm it did succeed
  4. remove OS 3.1 using the maintenance menu (hold :nsdo: :nsen: :nsee: while pressing and releasing 'reset' on the back - menu should appear at around 50-60% of the loading bar - don't let the loading bar reach 100% and OS 3.6 restart, as the downgrade protection will be back)
  5. redownload OS 2.0.0.1188 for the Nspire CAS : archives_voir.php?id=1828
  6. send OS 2.0.0.1188 at the Boot2 "Install OS" screen

Ok no, I think I've understood.

You need to reflash your Boot2 from version 3.0.1 to version 1.4, before being able to install OS 2.0.0.1188 this way.

This can be done with nsNandMgr.
  • Just download Boot2 1.4 : archives_voir.php?id=4614
  • Send it to the calculator ndless folder.
  • rename it to "boot2.img"
  • run nsNandMgr and press :ns2: :ns2:
