I have transformed my Ti nspire CM-C CAS to CX-C CAS following this tutorial:
https://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=16095&lang=en
and installed the nLaunchy 3.1/3.3 Switching Pack.
All works fine. However, is it possible to undo all changes and restore the stock state of the device?
If that's possible, can I install the original CM-C CAS os 3.1, hack again with ndless and install newer OS up to 3.9 for CX-C CAS with nBoot + ControlX?
Any help is appreciated.
Reverse transformation of CM-C to CX-C?

Re: Reverse transformation of CM-C to CX-C?
Hi.
Possible, yes.
But also dangerous, since if the required steps aren't performed in the right order, or if something fails/aborts mid-process, the calculator can be left in an intermediate state in which it's going to reject all CX/CM OSes.
Indeed, the nBoot+ControlX exploit is better, and supports more recent 3.6/3.9 OSes.
But I'm not sure it's a good idea. I've got a CM-C calculator booting on nBoot+ControlX, and I prefer to let it with the 3.1 CAS OS.
Here is why :
- 3.6/3.9 CX OSes are huge and take much more place in RAM
- and CX CAS OSes are bigger and taking even more place in RAM
- unlike the CX, the CM-C only has 32MB SDRAM
With a 3.6/3.9 CX OS your RAM is going to be almost full, and thus :
- some documents won't open
- some Ndless programs, especially with big mallocs, are going to abort (nsNandMgr for example)
- and in some setups, Ndless won't even manage to install properly (with 3.9 CAS I think - getting a copy of the older Ndless 3.9 and its smaller ndless_resource.tns file does help)
So yes, with nBoot+ControlX it's possible to get OSes 3.6/3.9 CAS on your CM-C, but you won't be able to do much more than calculations with them.
Now for the how-to if you still want to proceed, let me check the tutorial.

Re: Reverse transformation of CM-C to CX-C?
Thanks for the information and suggestion, critor.
I think that the nBoot + ControlX approach is worth trying out since it brings more possibilities. Even when the worst happens, it's still acceptable to me. If it's done, at least I can stay with the old OS 3.1 if the higher version is too demanding of hardware resources.
However, as a newbie I can't proceed easily unless a step-by-step guide is availabe on
Thanks again for the help.

- how to restore the stock state of a CM-C CAS transformed to CX-CAS, if it's required to install nBoot + ControlX
- how to direclty install nBoot+ControlX in the tranformed state if it's possible
Thanks again for the help.
