I´ve seen this tutorial and I remembered a problema that ocurred with me a week ago. I was trying to send files between a TI-83 and a TI-84 Plus with that apropriate cable and it always gives me "Error on Xmit" -.-

Btw, great job with this vídeos :)

Error on Xmit:
  • Timeout spent
  • No cable
  • You send data while the second calc is not in "Waiting..." mode

;)

A TI-84 doesn't exist. There is always something after the "84", either a "+" or a "Pocket", and sometimes both, and sometimes followed by a "SE" or a "CSE". It doesn't really matter since all 84-calcs are quite the same (except maybe the CSE), but this is a real problem for the distinction between the TI-83 and the TI-83+, and since you didn't put the complete name of your 84-calc, we have no way to guess if you gave the complete name of your 83-calc. So is it a 83+ or a 83 ?
