The real hw id change problem is what should be fixed but that may take some time if parrotgeek doesn't know why it happens

I do know why it happens. However, fixing it would require me to completely redo my patches.

Currently I am just patching all accesses to the hardware ID to return the CAS one from nspire_emu in order to bypass the OS checks. This is a really bad idea. What I really SHOULD do is find where the os is checking the return value and patch the branch instructions but I'm too busy.

Adriweb a écrit:Well no, that’s what he suggested - in theory you would have to be the one modifying your own stuff

In theory yes, but he doesn't know how, so what is he supposed to do? If he sends them to me I'm just going to send a patched version back to him and not post it anywhere. I know that technically isn't allowed but it's the best we can do without waiting an indefinite amount of time for me to redo the patches.

@parrogeek1 Your help is very appreciated. :)

Although it would be easy to just make the Lua function return true in all cases, you might want to make it target the modified serial number.
Because if you make an unleashed version of the app, it's likely to reappear on the Internet somewhere else someday. And this topic is public.

I agree with you. I won't make a patched version.

Just to be sure:
This methode will work on hardware revision AD?

OS: 4.5.0.1180
Boot1: 4.0.1.43
Boot2: 4.4.0.8

First time we learn of an "AD" revision, so nobody knows until it is tried (you may or may not want to take the risk...)
What's the full datecode? Something like N-0218AD ?

Is there any way to test without risking a permanent brick again? :c

Hello again!
I faced a strange problem yesterday when I tried to restore my calculator. I had CX CAS OS installed and I wanted to perform a restore to CX OS. Everything worked perfectly, except for Ndless uninstalling: when I try to open the Resources file to uninstall it, nothing happens, also after restarting/resetting the calculator (the green phrase in the upper left corner is still there and it seems that Ndless is still working because I can run BtMg). The only way I found to fix it is by performing a "secure boot" with the key comination :nses: :nsme: :nsmo:
Is there anything I can do?
Thank you!

Just remove the Ndless resources file to uninstall Ndless.
