parrotgeek1 a écrit:cool. How did you get them to do that? They normally don't replace calculators that have been modified. Still don't know what happened to yours because this tutorial has worked perfectly for a lot of people

I accidently used files from another tutorial, I think .__.

From which step to follow to reset the calc back to default 4.4.0 NON CAS OS version without that warning at boot?

Step D, except with NONCAS_OS file

Can you PM me a link to the apps? I can try to see if I could patch them to work anyway. If I do, please don't post them anywhere (it's piracy)

You need to fix the harware ID problem as soon as possible at least I hope you can do it :). Turns out I cant give you a link to my apps or the app it self as the apps are purchased and will not work with your calc unless you purchase them yourself. But that will still not change/fix the problem. So the main problem is to fix the bug on why the HW ID changes.
Thank you.

If you don't share the apps, then the Lua function which checks the hardware ID can't be fixed.

I guess it's the apps from https://tinspireapps.com - which would indeed be piracy to mess with (remove/bypass the protection etc.).
The real hw id change problem is what should be fixed but that may take some time if parrotgeek doesn't know why it happens

Well in my opinion if your hardware id changes for some reason, it's legitimate to *privately* patch the protection preventing you from using what you've bought.

The hw id does also change when you upgrade ClickPad DVT prototypes.

Sure, I guess once you bought your own copy you're free to do whatever with it privately

Well no, that’s what he suggested - in theory you would have to be the one modifying your own stuff

Is it possible to modify the hardware ID somehow? I have AB hardware on my nspire cx, which is one of the new calcs.

No. Changing the hardware revision requires replacing the PCB.
