What's your calculator hardware revision ?
It's shown on the back in the datestamp printed at the right of the serial number.
In your case the datestamp should end with W, X, Y, Z, AA, AB...

Thanks.

Thanks.

On hardware revision AA (X+), the Boot1 4.0.1 is inside the proprietary ASIC chip.
We don't know if it can be reflashed, and should it be the case we don't know how to. :(

I think I have some a similar issue with nBoot on an old hardware revision C or D.
When turned on, the screen is strange, as if the refresh frequency was lower, and the luminosity too.

Note this calculator is still working.

No such issue with the more recent hardware revisions I have.

So something is interfering, but sorry I don't know what.

Hello everyone! I’m new here and need expert advice on how to install Linux onto my nspire cx cas. I have downloaded nboot, loaded controlx and when i tried to load the Linux.tns file onto my calc I got this error on The interface “Source image exceeds area and has been rejected. Choose higher dest location”
I’m not technologically savvy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, preferably with screenshots. Thank you SO much for your time.

Charlie

Hi.

Could you share a capture/picture of the BtMg home screen so we can check ?

Thanks.

Help! I finished the install a long time ago, it worked perfectly. But after a charging, my TI-nspire ca cas is stuck at the loading screen. like in the link.

Hi !

It's a TI-Nspire OS bug with the SRAM, it may happen from time to time, even without nBoot/ControlX/Ndless.

Here's a way out :
  • press and hold the reset button
  • press and hold the :nsct: key
  • release te reset button
  • if the calculator doesn't automatically turn on, press :nsho:
  • release all keys
  • you should be at the ControlX menu
  • press :ns3: to browse the Diags partition
  • look for a diagnostic software and launch it - if present, it should be by pressing :ns2:
  • the diagnostic software may report you a GPIO error, in this case press :nses: to confirm the fix
  • once at the diagnostic software home menu, just press and release the reset button on the back
  • the OS should now start normally

Here's another way if you can't find a diagnostic software, but you'll need a screwdriver : just disconnect the rechargeable battery for some seconds.
