You'll be able to open Linux programs, if you include and build them correctly in your Linux image.

One of the available prebuilt Linux images is already including and X server with some programs :

archives_voir.php?id=9218

But you'll first need to convert this old image to the ControlX boot image format.
The tool linked below is designed to do this.

The Linux image has to be flashed to one partition with enough free space, either Boot2, either Diags, either ExtnD.

The tutorial tells you to put Linux in the ExtnD partition.
To do this :
  • on the calculator open linux.img
  • this should automatically open it with BtMg
  • press :ns6: to select the ExtnD partition
  • press :ns2: to flash
  • if asked, select the flash location with up/down arrows (either before or after the Boot2)

it says source image exeeds area and has been rejected chose higher dest location. so....its a fail?

It means your ExtnD partition is not big enough.

You need to resize it with nsPartManagic by relocating the FileSystem partition.
This is going to wipe all your TI-Nspire data.

The exact needed size if you are using the provided Linux demo image is specified in the tutorial.

Just open linux.img on the calculator, and share a capture/picture of your BtMg home screen.

We should easily find out what's wrong. :)

Thank you very much.

Yes, you've used the wrong value.
As you can see, your ExtnD partition is 640 pages large and only has 49 free pages left.
640 (0x280 in hexadecimal) is the tutorial value for the basic install (without Linux). But maybe this wasn't clear enough.

Your Linux images is 2000 pages large, and there is no way it's going to fit in 49 pages.
