Hmm, Vogtinator's fork you mention is older than upstream (by 20 commits), and doesn't contain the commit that's at least in the shipped r2012 release: "(r2012) lcd_compat mode: Save some memory and support transparency".
Is it good if you build from upstream?

I did not notice that It still fixed the bug i had with gpsp though in RGB555. Last time i tried, the version from ndless.me did not work for me.
