Help, Bricked TI nspire cx

Message non lude blunoon » 15 Mar 2021, 15:34

Hello,

I am in need of some help. I accidentally flashed about boot 1.5 while converting my Ti nspire cx to CAS. Now it is stuck on the loading screen half way. I have tried resetting it, to delete OS and all files but it does not work. Also, I tried getting to diag menu and it did not work. Please help, I do not want a bricked calculator.

to be more descriptive, I flashed over boot 1.5. I originally thought I had the older hardware version but I have a new one (last two letters AE) I flashed over, It said operating system not found. I then tried downloading the original software I had on the calculator, however this led to a frozen screen. Now it wont allow me to completely reformat or anything. Also, the undo + menu + minus then pushing reset has not done anything. I appreciate any help I can get. Critor if you are out there please help, you are the TI wizard of the world.

If the Boot2 doesn't work, and if
esc
menu
-
doesn't make the calculator boot, then I don't know of any software-only way to repair the calculator.

Try
esc
menu
-
again ? If you accurately followed the tutorial hosted here, it should work. That tutorial was designed to minimize the risk of bricking the calculator :
  • press and hold
    esc
    menu
    -
    (the
    -
    above
    enter
    , not the
    (-)
    to its left)
  • without releasing these 3 keys, press and release the reset button on the back
  • if the calculator didn't automatically turn back on, still without released the 3 keys, type
    ⌂on
, 2 times in a row if necessary
