It is a RPG inspired by the Pokémon, The Reign of Legends and Illusiat series and serves as an indirect sequel to Darkblasters for the TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus monochrome calculators and First Fantasy: Mana Force for the TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition, TI-83 Premium CE and TI-84 Plus CE (Python models included). Set over 1000 years past two apocalypses, you live in a world where almost everything is a walrus due to radioactive fallout causing widespread mutations over time. Walruses in this world battles as many species for fame and it is now your day. However, a threat also seems nearby and it is possible that the future of this world lies in the outcome of a future battle in particular... INSTALLING: -Make sure you have OS 5.3.0 or higher. If you have 5.5.1 or higher then you need to jailbreak your calculator with ArTIfiCE before you can install the Celtic CE library needed to run this game. It is recommended to keep all game files from this package archived in order to avoid extra slowdowns. You need at least 620 KB of archive memory to run the game. https://bit.ly/CelticCE https://yvantt.github.io/arTIfiCE/ -Send all the 8xp files to your TI-84 Plus CE or TI-83 Premium CE archive memory. This will take several seconds due to the large game size. -Run prgmPOKEWALR to play the game and press [1] to start a new game. PLAYING: The game controls are: -Arrows: Move character and select stuff in the Walriipedia menu -1-2-3-4 (or F1-F2-F3-F4): Choose options in menus such as battle moves or assign different characters to your party slots from the Walriipedia. 1 Also opens the mini-map from the overworld -2nd: Open Walriipedia menu, view a specific walrus attributes, confirm -DEL, CLEAR, F5: Exit Walriipedia or go back one menu level The goal of the game, aside from beating a world-threatening foe, is to fight and capture as many walruses as possible for use in battles, while completing dungeons to unlock the final area. Although the game is heavily inspired from the Illusiat series, it is more open-world so you can pretty much go anywhere from the start. If you talk to ghosts on your way, you will unlock extra walruses heavily based on popular video game or TV franchises without fighting them. The game auto-saves when winning a battle, teleporting out of a dungeon, talking to a ghost and exiting the Walriipedia. Be careful if you start a new game then change your mind to avoid doing the above otherwise your old save file will almost immediately be overwritten. BATTLES: During battles, each character and opponent got three different battle moves and each walrus is from a specific class, such as fire, ice, electric, earth, etc, and some battle moves might not be as effective against them while other moves might work better, such as fire spells against ice opponents. Normal moves with no element assigned to them usually cause less damage. If you defeat the enemy party then you gain the ability to summon its walruses in future battles in your own party. If you lose the battle, then in most cases you return to the map without capturing the enemy walruses (although it still saves your game). During battles, there are enemies that could poison your party, resulting in all affected walruses gradually losing health. Some walruses can also stun your party members, preventing them from attacking for a few turns. Those status ailments can be removed with the use of REMEDY move. BATTLE MOVES: Each walruses have three battle move slots. Here are all of the possible moves they can use. -TUSK: Single-target regular attack. Does less damage than the average elemental attack -FLIPPER: Multi-target regular attack. Does less damage than the average elemental attack -NEEDLE: Grass single-target attack that also causes poison -CUTTER: Grass multi-target attack -POISON: Grass poison effect that causes all walruses to lose health everytime someone is done attacking -LASER: Electric multi-target attack -BLITZ: Electric single-target attack -QUASAR: Electric single-target attack that does even more damage if the enemy is weak against it. -STUN: Electric attack that prevents the target from attacking for a short while. Causes damage if already paralyzed -FIRE: Fire single-target attack -EXPLODE: Fire multi-target attack -ICE: Ice single-target attack -FROST: Ice multi-target attack -AQUA: Water single-target attack -FLOOD: Water multi-target attack -DOOM: Dark attack that reduces a single target health to 25% of its current health -DRAIN: Dark single-target attack that absorbs health and give it back to you -TORNADO: Wind single-target attack -FLASH: Holy multi-target attack -HOLY: Holy single-target attack -QUAKE: Earth single-target attack -SCAN: Views the enemy class and battle moves -CURE: Single-target healing -LIFE: Multi-target healing -REMEDY: Removes all status ailments from all allies WALRIIPEDIA: The Walriipedia is where you manage your battle party. Any party combination of characters is possible and some might be more effective in specific areas or dungeons if a large group of enemies share the same class range. You can see each walrus attribute there as well as how many walruses you can summon and your current location. CHANGELOG: Magenta fix (2023-09-06) -The NEEDLE attack move now poisons its target. -Added full credits for original Walrii fan art to both readme and the game as the previous credits didn't go into details for this. -Fixed Walrii walking sprite overlapping on the right side of the screen when exiting the other side of the screen. -Fixed final dungeon not unlocking properly once the other dungeons are completed. Magenta Version (2023-08-29) -Allow running away from overworld battles for when you already own the walruses. Note that this hurts your win ratio, however. -A mini-map of the game's overworld is now available and shows which dungeon you have visited and cleared. -Renamed the STUN attack move to QUASAR. -STUN is now a new, different move more relevant to its name, along with SCAN, POISON and REMEDY. -Three additional battle moves were added besides the aforementioned STUN move. Most involve status ailments such as poison or paralyzing. -Many battle moves were replaced with new moves for various walruses and some walrus moves were re-ordered. -Four walruses that were obtainable by talking to ghosts swapped location with each others. -Raydenii is now an electric walrus rather than dark. -Electric walruses are no longer almost immune against grass attacks, while grass walruses are now almost immune against them. -Water walruses are now immune against water attacks -Switches now disappear in any dungeon after being activated rather than just the last. -Walrii doesn't flicker as much now while walking. -Six new playable characters were added. -The final dungeon floor color has been changed. -An extra block is erased by the switch in the longer dungeons to reduce backtracking. -There are now two extra sub-programs due to the addition of new characters and the map and the game is now around 600 KB large. Turquoise Version (2023-08-09) -Fixed title screen year being 2999. -Added credits screen. -Fixed save file data getting offset in some situations -You can now choose to keep save data archived in the title screen options at the cost of more defragmenting -Walking around feels more responsive and there is no more delay before you start moving again after the initial keypress if you hold the key down. -Fixed first dungeon being marked as incomplete in your save file if you beat the final boss. -Fixed final dungeon entrance disappearing after beating the final boss, reloading your game then exiting the final dungeon (entirely related to the above bug). -Fixed two overworld map design issues allowing you to walk on a solid tree in each of the two affected areas. -Moved the selection numbers down when you select a party member to use the Cure magic on so that it has less chances of overlapping on walruses and being hard to read. -Selection numbers no longer erase a bunch of lines of pixels when closed but rather only erase what's behind them. -You can no longer attack out of combat enemies (when their health is zero) -Changed Walriichu's class to Electric instead of Holy. -Fixed bug causing fire enemies to be strong against ice. -Fire and electric walruses are now weak against water. -Fixed bug causing holy and water walruses to be nearly immune against life and cure spells respectively. -Win rate added to Walriipedia -The final game's messages (such as "The End") now show up on a custom screen like the rest of the game instead of using basic homescreen text fonts. Brown version (2023-07-27) -Initial release
