Installation |/ +=================+ Installing Invalid Tangram DE on your TI-83+, TI-83+SE, TI-84+, or TI-84+SE is simple. Send the appropriate file (below) to any of the models listed above. You will need at least 5.5KB of ROM or RAM and Doors CS 6.0 or higher OR Ion 1.6 or higher. If you do not have Ion or Doors CS, you can get Doors CS: http://dcs.cemetech.net Appropriate Files: --Doors CS 6.0 or higher: INVALID_DCS.8xp --Ion 1.6 or higher: INVALID_ION.8xp Once you have sent Invalid Tangram DE to your calculator, run INVALID from the Doors CS desktop to play the game. ++=======================++ \| 2. Object of the Game |/ +=======================+ In Invalid Tangram DE, you are fighting ever-more-powerful waves of enemy ships. You have a primary gun at the front of your craft, but can get powerups to make it more powerful, faster, and shoot in multiple directions at once. The end of the game is determined by time, not health: as you are hit, you lose time, but powerups regenerate some of your time. When each ship dies, it turns into one of three types of block that falls to the bottom of the screen. In order to get a powerup, hold the notch in the bottom of your ship over a group of two or more touching blocks and press the absorb key ([ALPHA]). The more blocks you get, the more power you earn. The powerups slowly drain as time progresses; the amount of power you have is indicated by the three bars in upper left. Try to stay alive as long as possible and survive as many waves as possible to get a high score. Your score is shown in upper left, while the time left is shown in upper right. Additions or subtractions to/from the score are shown in smaller font underneath the time left. Invalid Tangram has two difficulty levels, Easy and Hard. The difference between the two is how block absorption rules are constructed. In the Easy mode, you can absorb any group of two or more blocks at any time to gain powerups. In Hard mode, however, you can still absorb groups of two or more blocks to power up, but you can ONLY absorb blocks of a specific type when your powerup bar for that type of block is EMPTY. This makes the game substantially more challenging, because you can't keep getting combos to top up already powerful powerups. ++=============++ \| 3.
