>>>>> Vanish <<<<< By: Alex Litzau For the TI-83+(SE)/TI-84+(SE) (TI-83+SE/84+/84+SE highly recommended for speed) This game works with Mirage OS. >>>> Description <<<< Vanish is a very original game that I created myself. You must move through a maze filled with dots (No, not Pac-man!) and get the "monster" to eat all of the dots. The "monster" moves randomly, but you can influence the timeliness of its finishing all of the dots by setting up fences to block certain routes. By blocking off places that have already been eaten, the "monster" will finish faster, getting you a higher score. However, any contact with the "monster" will kill you, and if you step your player outside of the maze, a new dot that must be eaten by the "monster" will be created there. Your score is based on the number of dots eaten by the "monster" and the time it takes for all of the dots to be eaten. The game has 10 levels, which can be edited with the level editor. Give this game a try for a unique and interesting challenge. >>>> How Levels Are Saved <<<< The 10 levels and high scores for each level are saved in a compressed list named "VNSH". This list is meant to remain archived for safekeeping. When playing the game or using the level editor, this list will be automatically unarchived at the beginning and rearchived at the end. Therefore, you will never have to worry about archiving or unarchiving the levels. If you exit out of the programs correctly (Don't press "ON"), this list will require no extra care. Modifying this list manually will likely cause an error when running the program, so this is a bad idea. >>>> Controls for the Game <<<< Press "2nd" or "ENTER" to select a menu item. Press "Mode" at any time to return to the main menu. During gameplay, use the arrow keys to move your character, "2nd" to set up a fence, and "Alpha" to pause the game. >>>> Controls for the Level Editor <<<< When you start the Level Editor, you will be asked if you want to edit levels or setup levels. Choose to setup levels if the list "VNSH" does not exist on your calculator. Otherwise, choose to edit the levels. While editing a level, use the arrow keys to move the cursor, "2nd" to switch your cursor's mode of drawing (switches between adding a wall and adding a blank space with a dot), or "Alpha" to set a starting point for the player at the current position of the cursor. The blinking point in the center of the screen is the monster's starting point. Press either "Mode" or "ENTER" to save and/or exit. Selecting "ENTER" to exit will take you back to the menu afterward, while "Mode" will exit you out of the program afterward. > This program deletes all variables that are used and restores all graph settings when you exit. >>>> Credit <<<< If you use any part of this program in any of your programs, please give me some credit. It's just the right thing to do.
