Chip's Challenge 84 v1.00b (3/26/2009) by Riley Ellis (simplethinker) Contents of ChipDemo.zip: Celtic3.8xk (build 3.09q) CHIPD1.8xg CHIPD2.8xg Requirements: TI-83+SE or TI-84 Series is recommended. -Playable on a TI-83+ but slow speed. Celtic3 build 3.09q or greater (included) 16kb free RAM ------------------------------- Installation -------------------------------- Transfer Celtic3, CHIPD1, CHIPD2 to your calculator. Install Celtic3 by going to the Apps menu, running Celtic3 and then press "Install". Extract the group CHIPD1. Now archive everything that was extracted. Extract the group CHIPD2. Now leave everything the way it is. *For those of you with WabbitEmu, which doesn't seem to like groups: Move everything in the folder CHIPD1(files) to archive. Move everything in the folder CHIPD2(files) to... guess what? RAM! --------------------------------- Game Play --------------------------------- Run the program "CHIP2" (Don't ask me why it's 2. It just is.) In the main menu: Use the left/right arrows to navigate to either 'Play' or 'Quit' and press [2nd] to select. If you select 'Play', you will now be able to use the up/down arrows to choose which level to start on. (Just so you know I can be merciful). Press [2nd] and the little underline will dissapear while loading the level. In-game: Use the arrow keys to move around. The goal is to collect all of the chips to unlock the socket. This will allow you to get to the portal, and move on to the next level. You can press [CLEAR] at any time to return to the main menu. ------------------------------ Tiles and Such ------------------------------- Chip: You need to collect these to open sockets. The number you still need to find is under the big thing that says "Chips". Socket: You need to have your Chips count be zero to open these. They usually lead to the exit. Portal: The exit. Keys: There are four types of keys, distinguished by the number of dots. You might notice that there are 'doors' that look an awful lot like these keys. Key #3 is special in that it has unlimited uses. Doors: See above. Wall: You can't walk here. Hint: If you walk on it you'll get some tips. Just walk off of it to return to normal. Movable: You can push 'em. If you move them into water they become dirt. Keep in mind blocks can't be pushed onto dirt. Dirt: Walk on it to turn it into regular ground. Water: Unless you have flippers you'll die (haha). Flippers: With these you won't drown. Fire: Without fire boots you're die (haha). Fire boot: Guess. Ice: Careful, without ice skates it's slippery. Ice skate: Ice won't be slippery (duh). Force: These push you in a certain direction. Get suction boots so you won't fall on your face. Suction: You won't have to get pushed around by those darned force floors. Toggle Press it to turn certain walls on or off. switch: Toggle Affected by the toggle switch. wall: Maybe You might be able to walk on it, or you might not. block: Teleport: Wisks you away to another pad. Remember that they're directional. Guy: He'll rob you of your boots! Big blob: You'll only get one chance to walk here. Afterwords it turns into a wall. ----------------------------------- Notes ----------------------------------- When the hints say "green switch" or "blue block", it means that one new tile that looks like it might fufill the purpose the "color" one is supposed to. Just play along ;) Level 7: You know how you can skip all of the chips and go straight to the portal? Just pretend like there's a thin wall preventing you from entering it from the top. Okay?. ---------------------------------- History ---------------------------------- 3/25/2009: v1.00 First demo released. 3/26/2009: v1.00b Previous version skipped level 7 in sequential play.
