khicas and Xcas

Good evening everyone, I place here a Parisse's post, which I think is already registered in this forum, on the Forum of Xcas. Bernard would gladly accept our help in the development of his Cas program. Those with more margins of improvement are Khicas and the version of Xcas for Android. As for Khicas, knowing that among you there are excellent programmers, we can try to find a way to debug the program. Khicas works very well, is more powerful and has much more functions of calculating than the TI-Nspire CX CAS, but it is not yet a definitive version. If we help Parisse to improve it, we will have a powerful and functioning CAS available on our calculators. I read somewhere that Khicas only works on OS 3.6 and 3.9, but it's not true. Khicas works also on all subsequent OS and on the 4.5 works better than on the others (I use it on the 4.5). At the moment Khicas is the best cas we can have on our calculators, we must help to develop it. I carry the words of Bernard on the forum of Xcas

P.S.I apologize for having to write in English, but I am Italian and I do not know French

  • Yes it is known that khicas is also working on the recent OS versions - it's just that the Readme, where 3.6/3.9 is written, hasn't been updated to mention the newer OS versions.
  • Regarding debugging, https://github.com/nspire-emus/firebird ... g-with-GDB is as simple as it gets :)

Bernard wrote that GDB is very slow, do you think there is a way to make it faster?
About the screenshotting...i didn't know i could link the original topic and quote the text. Thank you very much

No idea, I'm not much of a native nspire programmer, I'll ping Vogtinator about it.

Probably not setting-up/running things correctly then :)
It may be relatively slow, but it should work.

Adriweb, a question. Does Yolocas and Casti1.0 works on OS 4.5?

Huh.... Yolocas was an april fool's joke and Casti is apparently a TI-Basic program for CAS models, so...

Of course Yolocas doesn't work, s ince it's a joke. And for "Casti", it doesn't matter.
If you want to deal with xcas/khicas issues, you should try to talk with Parisse directly, or ask him to come to this topic if he hasn't seen it.
