Cannot install CAS OS onto non-CAS TI-nSpire CX

Hi!

I'm trying to upgrade my Ti-nSpire CX to CAS by following this tutorial.
http://www.omnimaga.org/general-calculator-help/installing-cas-on-ti-nspire-cx-non-cas/60/

All went nice and dandy (not really, but it worked) until I got to the part where you are supposed to send the nlaunch.tco file. The calculator says what it's supposed to (Operating System not found. Install OS now.), but when I try to send the nlaunch.tco file, the software keeps giving me "The operating system file is corrupt or invalid."

What can I do to circumvent this?

Which OS version are you trying to install ? OS 3.6.0.546/550 CAS and later refuse to work on calculators sold as non-CAS calculators, and nobody published a method to circumvent this.

On a general note, the Omnimaga tutorial that you linked is outdated and outright dangerous. Multiple persons have already reported on TI-Planet and Omnimaga that they semi-bricked their calculators due to it, requiring a repair through the RS232 TTL port, using extra (if relatively cheap) equipment.
Our viewtopic.php?f=57&t=11019 tutorial has been adequately updated for newer hardware revisions, and it contains a "Note that the CAS 3.6 OS won't work on a non-CAS calculator" mention, as it should.
