HELLO

First of all i want to apollogise for my very bad English.

I have one of your graphing calculator, (TI nspire CX CAS). It is 2 years old, and have a brain new battery, because the old onedoesn't work any more. The problem begins yesterday, when i want to get some document on my calculator.
I use the newest version in my Windows 8.1. I get this document on my calculator, but calculator said, that "I have to had the new version OS, for opening this document" ... ( it was document.tns, it was just some notes)

I do just what my calculator said. I connect my calculator with my computer and try to uppgrade my OS. But after I click YES (You are about to upgrade your Handels /Lab Cradle operating system. Any unsaved data will be lost... Do you want to continiue? ... I click YES) .....and instalation programe sent me EROR:

- The handeld battery is low so an operating system cannot be installed at this time.

BUT MY BATTERY HAVE 100% ... (i charge it, and my calculator saind that .... settings-Status-Batteries)
_____________________________________________________
-Then I restart my calculator, and try angain (the same result)
-Then i pull out battery, and try again... (the same EROR)
- Then I klick DOC, ENTER, EE an click ON on my Calculator, and format and delete OS... then i try to install OS, and computer sent me the same ERROR.

now is my calculator complitly unusefull, because when i turn it on, sent me this messege: Operating system not found. Install OS now... but when I try to install OS, sent me ERROR ... I try hundred of times in many combination, ... try to format 2 time, restart and all other, but nothing help.

I have read on your website, that other option for instaling OS is, that I connect my calculator with some other calculator, but is a problem, because nobody in my shool don't have the same type of this calculator.

I am looking on the web, read many of forums and other vevsites, but nobody has a problem like me.

I am from Evrope - Slovenia ... please help me solve this problem, because I don't know what to do any more ... and i really need it (TI-nspire) for my shool work.
If you have any question or instrucions what i have to do, please sent it on my e-mail (viddominik@gmail.com)

Thank you for your help!
Vid Hedl

Hi,

What is the software you are using to send the OS ?
Have you tried all of them :
* TI-Nspire Student Computer Software (licenced)
* TI-Nspire Computer Link Software (free)
* TILP (opensource)

Maybe the charge is not reporting correctly... you could try letting it "charge" with the Diagnostics menu :
(Esc+Menu+[-] when reseting (as soon as possible) then go to 5)Manual Test, Battery Test, Battery Pack Charging )

Then, after some time, try again sending the OS from the computer link software for example

I have edited Levak's post to replace the link to an outdated version of TILP, which you should avoid at all costs (it predates the new libusb-win32 driver, to begin with, which precludes installation alongside TI's software), with a link to the official site. Better, use TILP II 1.18 Beta from the TILP beta-testing topic, viewtopic.php?p=147719#p147719 .
Given that you've already used TI's software, you'll have to install a special "filter driver", whose goal is to work around a fundamental limitation of Windows wrt. drivers (MacOS X, Linux and the others don't have such silliness), making it possible to use multiple drivers (one at a time) for the same piece of hardware. And I hope that the ever increasing Windows driver signing requirements don't get in the way somehow.

Did you try charging with the diags menu ?
(Then, try TI Nspire computer link again)

(Also, you may need to disable the filter driver from TILP if you used it)
